This gorgeous handcrafted gold-infused opaline Murano chandelier demonstrates a delicate Baroque-style design still loved by many. This piece has four flexing arms holding bobeches with petal-shaped trim. The milky opaline glass veers towards a light blue and pink color with elusive changes in the light. Twirling leaves embellish this glass chandelier, sprouting from the small bulbous center column. The piece has further detailing of scroll stems and rigaree trim; exhibiting a masterful flair in glass craftsmanship.
The glasshouses on the island of Murano are famous for highly ornamented glass chandeliers created by the inflation of molten glass followed by cutting, pincering, and other rapidly executed decorations and details. The body and arms of this piece are made of opaline Venetian glass enhanced with 24-carat gold leaf. Opaline glass is typically made bluish-white by the addition of Calcium phosphate (bone ash) and opalescent by the addition of fluorides. The golden details are concentrated in the leaves and trim which compliment the shifting opalescent hues.

This chandelier is rewired to meet US electrical standards. It takes four base-size bulbs, incandescent or LED. Each light bulb can use up to a maximum of 60 watts. This fixture requires a canopy and chain which is not included. Three feet of wire at the top can be adjusted to the preferred height. Glassblown and molded by hand, no part is perfect or identical. There might be natural imperfections, but no chips, or cracks in the glass. It is intact and absolutely stunning. Please see all the images, especially the close-ups. Parts are disassembled and require assembly. This fixture will require special handling and shipping by an experienced white glove service experienced in dismantling, packaging, and reassembling upon installation. To ship, it is dissembled.
