- Description
- For sale is a very rare and extreamly ornate glass parlor lamp from the early 1900's. It has a dome … more For sale is a very rare and extreamly ornate glass parlor lamp from the early 1900's. It has a dome mushroom shaped top, with a single light bulb inside. The entire piece is glass with a metalic ring that holds the hanging crytals. The glass may be crystal, but I am not an expert on crystal glass and do not want to false advertise. The glass is very clear, thick, and heavy which makes me lean toward crystal glass but again I am not sure. On the back side there are three replacment crystals as shown in the last photo, they are hard to notice without heavy inspection, but the hangining clips match the others on the rest of the piece. The main difference on these three is that the top two crystals on each are octogonal opposed to being rectangular. The lamp appears to have a newer cord, that has a built in sliding dimmer switch. Please note that when the switch is on the max setting the bulb does shutter, not sure if its a problem with the bulb, but if the switch is just below its highest setting as shown, the bulb is bright and normal. Beautiful piece that you wont see again. It measures 11L x 11W x 25.5H. less
