Gaucho, Nomadic Horsemen VII' (2013) | Edition of 5
Strong brown arms, a crisp shirt and the coins on his belt glinting in the sunshine. One hand clasped around a vintage rebenque whip and his reins in the other - the quintessential gaucho.
But for me, this photograph is about the rebenque. Every time I see one, it reminds me of a trip to Patagonia.
Staying on a working horse and cattle ranch, I was invited to go out with the gauchos one afternoon to help herd the cows and calves into corals. Things aren't too technical, I was handed a cow horse and a rebenque and given a position. Keep the cows in line, stop the escape artists and give a long deep authoritative yell, whilst cracking the whip in the air.
And it's not as easy as it looks. I learnt quickly that cows despite their bulky size are strangely fast and unruly. The work is tough, dusty and long and my voice is not as loud as I thought. But the camaraderie and wonderful humour of the gauchos, always smiling - and the indescribable feeling of riding a nimble working cattle horse that moved like a boss ... totally unforgettable.
Artwork Details:
All of Amrita's works are produced by a specialist fine art printer in London. The works are giclée printed to exhibition standards on museum grade Hahnemühle fine art cotton paper 310gsm, using archival pigment inks.
Each piece is hand signed and numbered on the front with a minimum of a one inch border.
A Certificate of Authenticity will be placed with the artwork in the shipment. The document will contain details of the work for the collector's reference.

Orders where Free Local Pickup or Seller Managed Local Delivery were selected:
- Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).
- On approved returns, the buyer is responsible for the full cost of return packing and shipping.
Cancellations
- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.
- Once shipping or pickup has been initiated, the cancellation will be considered a return and you will be responsible for the cost of shipping.

- Chairish Express In-Home Delivery
- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.
- The item will be delivered to your home and placed in the desired room. The delivery service includes unpacking, inspecting, and removing packaging materials; and does not include installation or setting up the item.
- Shipping charges start at $999 and vary based on the size, weight, packaging, and/or the value of the item.
- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.

- Chairish In-Home Delivery
