The bronzing process in which the boots were created is called electroplating, encasing an object in a thin layer of metal, in this case copper.

Historical Background: As you can see the “N.B.” initials inscribed on the front of each boot, are those of the late Norman E. Brinker (born 1931, died 2009). Brinker was a prolific restaurateur, he streamlined many familiar companies such as Chili’s, Jack in the Box, Pillsbury, Burger King, and is responsible for creating the casual dining model we know today! Brinker was also an avid polo player and competed as a member of the United States Olympic Equestrian team in 1952. These boots were a part of his estate, Twin Mallets Ranch, in Mckinney, Texas. less
