The painted scene is taken from the book of Genesis and depicts Loth, grandson of the patriarch Abraham, who together … more The painted scene is taken from the book of Genesis and depicts Loth, grandson of the patriarch Abraham, who together with his daughters finds shelter in a cave after saving himself from the destruction of the city of Sodom, pulverized by a rain of sulfur and fire, in to which the reddish glow visible in the background refers. At his side are portrayed his two young daughters who, after getting him drunk, lay with him to ensure the continuity of their genealogy. According to tradition, two sons were born from this incest, Moab and Ammon, progenitors of the two peoples of the Moabites and the Ammonites, traditional enemies of Israel. A demonstration of the skill of this artist is the still life in the foreground, which pleasantly accompanies the spectator's gaze towards the center of the scene; among the fruits depicted in it there are both the symbol of sin (the apple) and that of the passion of Christ (the grapes), a contrast consistent with the meaning of the episode, in which an action that is sinful in itself is read as an act sacrificial to give life to a new lineage of righteous men. - Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
- Once you have taken possession of the item, all sales are final
- International, cross-border returns may require different processes depending on the countries between which the item is shipping to/from, and the buyer is responsible and duties (if applicable, on cross-border orders).

Cancellations
