Originally designed by René Lalique in 1932, the "Roscoff" Bowl is named after the beautiful fishing port in Bretagne, France.
A rosette of stylized fish is complemented by water droplets on the underside which also act as the tripod legs for the bowl. Fish, a symbol of life, fertility and prosperity, is a recurring theme in Lalique’s works.
The hand-engraved maker's mark, "Lalique®France" indicates a post-1980 provenance. less
