1930s French Impressionist Barbizon School oil on panel view of a forest by Georges Guerin (1910-1984). The painting is signed bottom left and is also titled and dated to the back of the board, 'Mont-de-l'Enclus, 15 Juin 1935' and initialed.
A very charming view of a group of a path through a wooded glade. Guerin has achieved a wonderful play between light and shade, the monumentality of the trees and the perspective as our eye is lead through the painting.. Guerin's handling of the poplar trees is clearly influenced by the paintings by Monet of the same subject.
Guerin is noted for his landscapes as well as for his Paris street scenes and views of the Brittany coast.
The Mont de l'Enclus (in Dutch Kluisberg) is a mountain in the Flemish Ardennes, located on the border between the Flemish Region and the Walloon Region, between the municipalities of Kluisbergen and Mont-de-l'Enclus.

The Chairish Buyer Guarantee ensures that you have complete peace of mind when
making a purchase on Chairish, in the event that your item:
- Does not arrive
- Is broken during transit

- Prior to shipping or local pickup, buyers may cancel an order for any reason, with the exception of some Made-to-Order items, where supplies have been purchased or work begun on the item.
- Please notify us within 24 hours of purchase if you would like to cancel an order, as prompt cancellation will reduce the likelihood that you will incur return shipping charges.

- Chairish Express In-Home deliveries are currently only offered for international cross-border shipments.

- Deliveries can take anywhere from 6 to 9 weeks to be delivered.
- Chairish Freight Delivery
- Delivered in a crate, to your front door.
- You will need tools and/or equipment to open the crate.

- Chairish Freight deliveries can take anywhere from 4 to 8 weeks.
- Only available in selected markets.
- Chairish In-Home Delivery
