The Deruta pottery tradition dates back to the Renaissance period. This vase features many traditional Deruta themes including floral designs, mythological beasts and putti (angels). It is painted in the traditional color palette including goldenrod, deep blue, aqua, ruby red, olive green and orange against a crackle creamy white ground. The pottery of Deruta is made from local clay that is known for its workability. Deruta remains highly sought after and collectable in italy and internationally. This piece stands 20 inches high and is about 15 inches wide. We have found no damage to it! less
