This vibrant orange mid-century modern stoneware vase exemplifies the exceptional craftsmanship of fratelli fanciullacci, a renowned italian pottery maker. Marked with "9781 italy," this piece stands 19.5 cm high with a base measuring 6.2 cm, showcasing its elegant proportions and detailed artistry. The vase features a vibrant orange glaze with intricate carved decorations, characteristic of fratelli fanciullacci's ability to blend traditional techniques with contemporary designs. About fratelli fanciullacci fratelli fanciullacci pottery was established in capraia fiorentino in 1862 by raffaello fanciullacci. Initially, the company produced simple utilitarian table and kitchenware. By 1880, the name changed to fratelli fanciullacci, reflecting its founders. In 1911, the operation moved to montelupo, and by 1914, their catalog boasted over 1,000 different models, making them a significant employer and leader in pottery. The company expanded its range to artistic products, catering to both italian and american markets. Before moving to bitossi in 1935, renowned artist aldo londi worked for fanciullacci. The company produced ceramics in various styles, closely following contemporary trends and tastes. Post-world war ii, bitossi's parent company, colorificio, took control but allowed the fanciullacci family to continue operations independently. On november 4, 1966, the arno river's worst flood since 1557 devastated the fratelli fanciullacci factory. The flood destroyed over 1,000 molds, kilns, raw clay, and finished products destined for export. The factory closed for over a year, leading many artists and craftsmen to leave. Temporary production in florence failed to maintain previous quality, and collectors regard 1966 as the last year of collectible fanciullacci ceramics. Despite efforts to recover, fratelli fanciullacci could not regain its former glory and ceased operations in 1988. This piece has an attribution mark,
