A rustic and whimsical pair of one of a kind handmade candlesticks from provincial northern China. An easy way to add rustic character and charm to the home. The chinese candle holder / candle stick is handcrafted from hardwood and earthenware pottery / ceramics, having hand carved wooden floriform (floral - flower - blossom) bobeche atop tall slim standard, rising from a decorated, shaped ceramic base. Remnants of the original polychrome paint remain.
A wonderful example of Oriental Asian folk art. Full of character and charm, having textured surfaces, subtle asymmetry, slightly varied size, a beautiful warm, rustic patina over the whole, with an elegantly aged, worn and distressed finish. With some old chips and irregularity, adding to their allure. Great decor for the fireplace mantle, dining table, sideboard, a shelf or anywhere you want to add a splash of color and unique decorative touch.
