This wonderful fabric sample is printed in England on plain weave cotton with a light chintz glaze. Arthur Lee founded a fabric company that acquired JOFA (Johnson & Faulkner) in 1965 and became Lee-Jofa. There is a little over 1 yard length.
Deirdre’s Bio:
This comes from the archives of Deirdre Coughlin, founder of Phoebe’s Closet. She specializes in antique textiles and sold them to many New York City Designers including Ralph Lauren (that’s how I know her,) Charlotte Moss, Martha Stewart, and Schumacher, among many others.
