It Also has a "Iron Ping" Chip on the Top - Rear Area of the Handle on One Side That It is Glazed Over so this Would have Absolutely Occurred in the Making as a Kiln Flaw - This Can Best be Seen in The 3 Photographs in My Listing. It does also have a some Surface & Glaze Color Variations - Stains Etc. But these are quite normal with these types of Antique American Stoneware Pieces. Note! that Stoneware Items Such a These were Fired in Very Large Kilns with Many Other Pieces at the Same Time - In Large Batches. less

This Really is an Exceptionally Nice Looking Antique American Primitive Stoneware Storage Crock. Circa Late 19th Century. With "Ears" ( Side Handles ). It has a Wonderful Cobalt Blue Hand Decorated Bird on the Front. It is Embossed - Signed by the Well Documented and Much Sought After Maker OTTMAN BROTHERS & COMPANY, FORT EDWARDS NEW YORK. It is Also Embossed with a "2" that Denotes it 2 Gallon Storage Capacity. Back in the Day These Types of Stoneware Items were a Necessity in Most of Americas Farms and Household's and They were Made - Intended For Everyday Utilitarian Use. It is in Strong & Sound - Exceptionally Good All Original Condition - Displays Beautifully. No Cracks - No Repairs.
