On laid paper from Figures of the most Beautiful, Useful and Uncommon Plants described in the Gardener’s Dictionary (Published in … more On laid paper from Figures of the most Beautiful, Useful and Uncommon Plants described in the Gardener’s Dictionary (Published in London by P. Miller, 1755-1760). Done after drawings by Lancake, Miller and others, hand-colored and ready to display with green silk matts and floral motif frames. The early laid paper has a watermark visible when paper is held against the light (see last photo). Zoom into photos to appreciate in detail. Engravings are inscribed as follows (approximately as some letters in the Latin text are hard to correlate with a modern equivalent):
