This exquisite Japanese bronze pheasant from the Meiji period is beautifully patinated and gilded, detailing the bird’s feathers and form. The pheasant is mounted on a naturalistic, carved wood base, adding to its lifelike presence. A character signature is found on the underside of the bird's tail, indicating its maker. This elegant piece makes a striking statement in both modern and Asian-inspired interiors.
Measurements: Entire piece including pheasant and base is 10 1/2" high; Pheasant is 16 1/2" long by 7 1/2" tall by 6 1/2" widest point (wings); Wood Base is 21" long by 8" wide by 3" high approximately.
