Entitled "The Three Sisters (Heirloom Apple Trees)", this 2011 archival photograph on Hahnemuhle Fine Art Pearl paper is by contemporary Mendocino/Bay Area artist, Gaétan Caron (b. 1964), co-founder of Lost Art Salon in San Francisco. "In the late 19th Century, these apple trees were planted, in part, to sustain the growing lumber industry providing wood for the construction of the Bay Area. And they have survived to this day."
Gaétan captures most of his images in the surroundings of his off-the-grid home/work studio located in an heirloom orchard in the Mendocino hills of Northern California, a stone's throw from the wild California Coast. His work documents the textures, colors, forms, as well as monochromatic shadows and reflections found in nature through contemporary abstract, botanical, still life, landscape, seascape and portrait Fine Art photography. Produced in 6 size formats.
