- This table was made in Hong Kong, circa 1900, and would have been used on long trade routes as a … more This table was made in Hong Kong, circa 1900, and would have been used on long trade routes as a portable tea table for wealthy merchants. It has incredible character, with intricate hand-carved engravings in the metal which have become filled with a white patina over the decades. The collapsible stand is made from dual sections of bamboo bound together with bamboo strips, which ties in nicely with the Hong Kong origin and sets this table apart from other Middle Eastern versions. This would work beautifully in any ceremonial space as a tea table or simply a decorative display; it includes an attached hook to easily hang on the wall.
