- This table was made in Hong Kong, circa 1900, and would have been used on trade routes as a portable … more This table was made in Hong Kong, circa 1900, and would have been used on trade routes as a portable tea table for well-to-do merchants. It has incredible character, with intricate hand-carved engravings of mythical animals in the metal which have become filled with a white patina over the decades. The stand is hand-woven from bamboo, which ties in nicely with the Hong Kong origin and sets this table apart from similar Middle Eastern versions. This would work beautifully in a ceremonial space as a tea table or simply a decorative display; it includes a hook for hanging on the wall.
