A 1964 oil pastel on paper abstract drawing by American artist George Waite (1934-1994). This work features oil pastel in yellow and blue against an orange background. The pastel has been blended in some areas, creating blurriness and green shades. Displayed in a wooden frame with a white mat, this work is signed and dated to the bottom right.
George Waite was a well-established Chicago-based artist. In 1962, the McCormick Gallery honored Waite as a featured artist in the "12 Chicago Artists" exhibition. In 2004, he was also honored posthumously by Hyde Park Art Center in the "I Read It For the Art: Chicago, Creativity and Playboy" exhibition.
