This oil-on-canvas seascape features a tall ship under full … more Offering a lovely British School maritime seascape from the late-19th century. This oil-on-canvas seascape features a tall ship under full sail with gulls, fishing luggers, and other small craft in the background. It is mounted in an ornate period frame and signed "W. Webb" in the lower left. I particularly like this painting for its relatively small size. Maritime seascapes of this period are often quite large (and in some instances too large) for many contemporary living spaces. This this painting is perfectly suitable for smaller wall spaces, however, and will not overpower a thoughtfully designed vignette or gallery wall. Would also look gorgeous displayed on a decorative tabletop easel (see photos). Just beautiful! less
