Magnificent romantic engraving signed in the lower right area by Armand Berton, a nineteenth-century French painter. Exquisite technique, after stamping it has been watercolored, only in two tones, thus achieving a painting of great delicacy. It represents a young woman dressed in bourgeois clothing, looking in the mirror while fixing the bow of her hat. with serene features and graceful hands, this intimate scene is typical of the author's artistic production. The work is framed and finished with glass.
Armand Berton (1854 - 1927) was a Parisian painter and engraver born in 1854 and died in 1927 in Larousse. During his artistic career he obtained the gold medal of French artists in 1900. He was also decorated as a knight of the Legion of Honor in the same year. His pictorial work can be found in museums such as Bayeux, Mulhouse, Paris, Rouen, etc.
