A French 1925-1930 art deco table lamp. This small mushroom lamp was made by Gênet et Michon in clear frosted pressed glass with a nickel-plated solid brass or bronze mount.
The famous maison of Philippe Gênet and Lucien Michon did not make many of these table lamps since it is extremely rare. In the 25 years I am restoring French art deco lighting I never saw this model before. The lamp is 9,45 inches (24 cm) high and the shade has a diameter of 5.24" (13,3 cm). Both shade and base are signed "Genet et Michon France".
I rewired the lamp with stylish cloth covered twisted cord. And an American Leviton candelabra base socket and US 2-prong plug. The lamp is in very good condition. One tiny fleabite can be seen on the shade. And on its inside there a tension line which is a molding irregularity common for prewar French molded-pressed glass.
