Square in shape with slightly upturned corners, this dish has a blue square face design at the center with a red swimming figure above it. Marked with a “Kosta Boda” sticker to front the front, the dish is also marked “Kosta Boda B. Vallien 79365” to the underside.

Bertil Vallien is a highly respected glass artist and designer. In the 1950s, he studied under Stig Lindberg at the art school Konstfack in Stockholm. Best known for his work at Kosta Boda, Vallien is celebrated for sand casted sculptures. Many of these sculptures have the repeated motif faces. less
