Chapman called this style "Classic English fluted urn with handles*" when it was first offered in 1985, but referring to … more Chapman called this style "Classic English fluted urn with handles*" when it was first offered in 1985, but referring to them as trophy lamps seems appropriate this close to the Olympics and these clearly have their sites set on only one color: gold. Not only are they solid at 18 lbs each, their arm spans, since we're talking Olympics, are just over a foot so depending on what shade you decide to use for these, each one could very well take up close to two feet of space. I completely misjudged the proportions for my space which is too small to just tuck them away and, as cool as they look with their polished brass knobs and oddly short 7" Automax harps, they're not going to get any meaningful use or transformation they deserve here like switching out that top bow finial for more of an open laurel wreath, you know, if they're going to be champions.

Thanks to Chapman Manufacturing for providing a copy of their spec sheet. Asking price is with or without the lamp shades because of their condition (see conditions). less

These lamps are currently wired for 3 way bulbs, one might still have its original wiring, but the other now has close to a 20ft cord and looks like its lamp holder was changed out as well (Leviton vs ADL). The shades are not original and do have spots (pictured is the worst side, but small spots appear on both shades). The lamps were originally offered in an antique brass finish and it makes me wonder if the current finish was added later and that the original finish is underneath. What I assumed was oxidation and developing a patina seems more like a thin shiny brass layer of lacquer chipping off (or a combination of both - fyi that is happening in small spots throughout the lamp body which is why 'Needs Restoration' is checked). I thought about removing it myself, but decided to show the lamps as they currently are a.) in case I'm wrong and end up ruining something and b.) in case their next owners want to restore the shinier, polished look or explore removing it by a professional to reveal what might be the original finish.
