A beautiful set of 8 orange (or persimmon) and gold ceramic dining set by American designer Dorothy C. Thorpe, circa mid-20th century. Set for eight comes complete with 8 plates, 8 cups, and 8 saucers; an excellent choice to enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dessert. Orange or persimmon hue on ceramic is matte/unglazed. Plates, cups, and saucers have a beautiful gold detail, interior of cups are all gold. The orange/persimmon and gold make a striking combination. All pieces are marked on bottom 'Dorothy C. Thorpe' 'California'.
