Description: Set of four original silk screens of Nantucket scenes by Nantucket artist, Roy Clifford Smith. In this set are "Nantucket … more Set of four original silk screens of Nantucket scenes by Nantucket artist, Roy Clifford Smith. In this set are "Nantucket Town," "The Three Bricks - Nantucket," "The Rainbow Fleet - Nantucket," and "Auld Lang Syne - 'Sconset".

Smith set up a studio and shop on the island in 1946, and his prints have become iconic in the community. Original wooden frames with intact original gallery labels. Early 1950s. Lovely muted colors. Signed by the artist on the prints and titled by him on the mats.

Silk screens are made in stages, laying down one color at a time. In the detail shots, you can see the paint building and original paper as the white space, particularly in the clouds. Images are 4.75"x6" and frames are 8.5"x10.5". less
