A high quality antique Japanese late Meiji period enamel over brass vase. The vase has an amphora shaped body and a fluted neck. The ware is enameled with a polychrome image of blossoming flowers on the black ground made in the Cloisonne technique. The base and the neck of the vase are adorned with polychrome floral and foliage motifs made in the same technique. Unmarked. Circa: late 19th century Attributed to Hayashi
