Tree and Well silver plated trays were generally used for roast meats, however, they are ideally suited for ham, turkey, chicken, etc. This particular tray by Sheridan Silver Company of Taunton, Massachusetts, founded in 1944, was created in an American classical style. The central motifs are scallop shells followed by leaves with a gadrooned style border. The central plateau reserved for meat is flanked by two generously sized wells traditionally used for potatoes and vegetables.
The Sheridan hallmark stamped on the underside is an “S” flanked by a crown and a shield.
