Jan Bevort (1917-1996) known as Jan Camprio - Bevort was born in Utrecht on November 30, 1917. and died in Schorle on January 31, 1996. Bevort was an Impressionist painter and is well known for his palette paintings of seascapes, beach views and sailboats. He is a student of Chris Agtenberg and G. Nijenhuis at the Art Academy Artibus and a friend of the artist Peter Brauer. He also used the pseudonym “Camprio” for landscape paintings from southern Europe, including Spain and Italy. He was a member of the International Free Art Organization. It is included in Pieter A. Scheen's Lexicon Nederlandse Beeldende Kunstenaars (1750-1950). An exquisitely imposing, modern, impressionistic masterpiece by this renowned artist. less
