- Genuine Chinese cloisonné jars exhibit fine enamelwork craftsmanship, vibrant colors, and signs of age such as wear and patina…check, check, … more Genuine Chinese cloisonné jars exhibit fine enamelwork craftsmanship, vibrant colors, and signs of age such as wear and patina…check, check, and check. The outsides exhibit intricate enamelwork (carved lacquer) in cinnabar red bringing three-dimensional life to flowers, leaves, branches, and geometric designs. The insides are a glossy glazed porcelain in bright cerulean blue. The jars and lids are capped with brass rims with a vintage patina to prevent chipping. The jars also come with matching black wood bases that enhance their profile and add to the overall aesthetic. The jars are 4” in diameter and 4” high with lids on. With the included bases the overall height is 5”. The pieces are in excellent condition. The imperfections and patina are intentional and what you would expect - and desire - in a vintage handcrafted piece. less
