Presenting a remarkable set of fifteen original lithographs by renowned French painter François Gilot, sourced from the poetry book "Pages d'Amour" written by André Verdet and published by Raison d'être editions in 1951. These lithographs were expertly printed by Mourlot, a prominent printing house in France, as part of a limited edition of 366 copies. Each lithograph is a testament to Gilot's artistic mastery and exhibits her distinctive style. The collection is housed in individually framed compositions, crafted by a skilled artisan framer in Barcelona using black painted wood frames. Please note that the frames and lithographies may vary slightly as each piece is unique, and the framing process will be completed upon purchase. The accompanying photos serve as approximate representations of the final framing presentation. In good original condition, the lithographs bear minor wear consistent with their age and use, enhancing their character and preserving a captivating patina. François Gilot, born on November 26, 1921, is a distinguished French painter renowned for her artistic talent and her tumultuous relationship with Pablo Picasso, with whom she had two children. While Gilot's professional career as an accomplished artist in watercolors and ceramics flourished, her social celebrity overshadowed her artistic pursuits. Following her separation from Picasso, he attempted to hinder her artistic recognition by discouraging galleries from acquiring her work and unsuccessfully trying to block her memoir, "Life with Picasso." Fernand Mourlot, born on April 5, 1895, played a significant role in the printing industry. He joined the family business, "Imprimerie J. Mourlot," alongside his father and older brothers after completing his studies at the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs. The Mourlot Studios expanded under his leadership, and he collaborated with renowned artists and writers to produce illustrated books and lithographic posters. The studios gained recognition for their expertise in artistic printing, creating high-quality posters for notable exhibitions at French and international museums. Don't miss this exceptional opportunity to own a collection of François Gilot's original lithographs, meticulously printed by Mourlot and presented in unique frames, showcasing the beauty and artistic prowess of these timeless pieces.
