Description: An early 1950s Lamino lounge chair, designed in 1956 by Yngve Ekström for the Swedish manufacturer Swedese in the small … more An early 1950s Lamino lounge chair, designed in 1956 by Yngve Ekström for the Swedish manufacturer Swedese in the small town of Vaggeryd. It features a sculptural bentwood frame made from oak with teak armrests and deep red leather upholstery. Stamped "Swedese Yngve Ekström" underneath the frame. Original brass fittings and screws. Wonderful patina, oak frame with a beautiful deep color. The Lamino chair was launched in 1956 after several years of experimentation. It’s a development of the Kurva, an armchair Ekström developed a few years earlier. The goal was to create a beautiful and ergonomic chair suitable for industrial mass production, and the success was immediate. The Lamino became Ekström’s most appreciated piece of design and was voted the Swedish chair of the century in 1999. This piece has an attribution mark,
