A 1968 oil on board painting by the American artist Beni E. Kosh (alias Charles Elmer Harris, 1917-1993). Titled Encore Mildred #4 to the lower right, this abstract work depicts a couple of elongated figures standing in the midst of overlapping biomorphic shapes in blue. Signed and dated to the lower right, the painting is mounted and framed in a black wooden frame.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1917, Charles Elmer Harris later changed his name to Beni E. Kosh, meaning "Son of Ethiopia". Kosh studied at the Cleveland Institute of Art and later worked with the “Sho Nuff Art Group”. His work was unrecognized during his lifetime. less
