Christiansen well known for his ability to use the oil medium in a unique style that recreates the feeling of a water color, the medium flows fluidly and colors intermingle in a soft way. Looking at the painting relaxes you even as you simultaneously feel the colors intensity.
While not a color field artist, his works could certainly be a considered a commingling of Abstract Impressionism and Colorfield works.
The frame is a light blonde wood, simplistic in nature with the slightest molded edge as to not distract from the beauty of the work. less
