He noted they were … more I purchased these from an Air Force officer who was stationed in Japan for several years. He noted they were VERY OLD, likely over 150 years old. These nesting trays was used to carry items out to the hibachi grill, where the food was cooked. Each tray was filled, and then they stacked the trays on top of one another. They come in the original box. The Japanese writing states they have “chrysanthemums” on them.

They would be great used as shelves for trinkets, or repaired and used as an end table. The options are endless.

The largest tray is 14.5”W x 8”T x 14.5”D. They are not perfect. They have some cracking around the inside edges, as pictured. There are also a couple cracks in the wood. They are in stable condition now, but fragile. They would be best displayed without a lot of weight on them, I would think. They could probably be repaired, as well. less
