The original designs date to the 17th century and were inspiration to the 1872 collection. The colored images are in pristine condition. They showcase flowing intricate floral patterns in rich color hues. There is a textural quality to the designs. Note the use of metallic gold inks with their irridescent quality. This metallic ink use is unique to late 1800s to early 1900s. Each of the designs came from “private” collectors which are noted on the design plate. This image is entitled “Etoffe (fabric) Venitienne.” There is minor foxing on the borders of the plate not effecting the image. The image size measures 8.5x 11.50 inches. We will mat the image only in a 16 x 20 inch custom neutral mat that fits a standard size frame. Please allow time for custom matting.
