The ivory center along with the red and blue colors used are good indicators of the origin; additionally the design is very exemplary of the Caucasian region as well. As you can see towards the top of the rug there is a line of ivory color that seems to be out of place. People who don't really understand what goes into rugs will see that and think its some hideous mistake or correction, when in reality that ivory line going across the rug is a testament to its authenticity. Way back when, when supplies were more limited it would often happen that the rug makers would run out of their wool mid carpet and were forced to use other wools. This results in having lines on the rug, or even having two different shades of the same color in the same background of a rug.
