"Trilogy" triptych by R. C. Gorman
R.C. Gorman - United States
Art Brokerage: Navajo artist R. C. Gorman. b. 1931-2005. Gorman is considered by many to be the premiere Indian artists. The New York Times quoted him as being the Picasso of American Indian Art. A man of today in every sense, his art reflects the racial memory and experience of an ancient people that remains timeless and universal. The deceptively simple, lyrical lines of his drawings provoked the New York Times to title R. C. Gormans as "The Picasso of American Indian Art." R. C. Gormans' work, especially the lithographs, drawings and bronzes, is collected as often by lovers of contemporary art as by those specializing in Indian Art. Sadly R.C. Gorman passed away on November 5th, 2005, he will be missed.

These are spectacular. Had them in our oceanfront Penthouse condo in Juno Beach, FL. Purchased from R.C. Gorman’s gallery in Taos, N.M. and shipped to Baltimore. Having downsized no longer have wall space in my condo. I still have the receipt for the framing of them $1,500 - the frames cost $500 a piece nearly 30 years ago. They can stand on their own in their own special important spot on a wall in a room or down a hallway in different places or massed together for impact. Spoke with R.C.Gorman Gallery in Taos in 2013 to find out comparable prices. Mine are the pink state slight pink hue, framed edition of 150 and the gallery has a set they have priced at between $20,000-$24,000 UNFRAMED. The unsigned copies they had were selling for $12,000 and mine as you can see from photos are titled, dated and signed.
