Description: Wow. The verdict is in. This is from all appearances a rare Imperial Russian piece. This is a beautifully rendered … more Wow. The verdict is in. This is from all appearances a rare Imperial Russian piece. This is a beautifully rendered gilt bronze cigar humidor, on an ebonized cast iron base. This piece features intricate enameling in bright colors that is all intact, six architecturally displayed Telamon pilasters, an heraldic lion finial on the lid, and so much more. The piece has a felt bottom which I have partially removed in a search for any marks or labels. I have found none. It measures 8 inches in diameter, stands 14 inches high, and weighs a phenomenal 10 lbs, 9.8 ounces. This monumental humidor shows no signs of use, either visually or olfactorily. I have never seen one this beautifully crafted. My thought is that the style alone places it 1885-1910 at the height of the production of true luxury items.
