designer eva zeisel was a hungarian-american industrial designer known for her innovative work in ceramics and the design of everyday objects. Born on november 13, 1906 in budapest, hungary, zeisel had a prolific career that spanned much of the 20th century and had a significant impact on modern design. Zeisel began his career as an apprentice in a pottery factory in budapest. Subsequently, he studied at the royal academy of fine arts in budapest. In 1928, he began working as a freelance designer, obtaining commissions from various european factories. One of eva zeisel's most significant collaborations was with schramberg majolika fabrik, a ceramic factory located in schramberg, germany. The collaboration with schramberg majolika fabrik took place during the 1930s, a crucial period in the development of modern design in europe. Zeisel's work for schramberg reflected a modern, functional approach to design, characterized by fluid forms and clean lines.
