Wall lamp 'coupé' designed by joe colombo in 1967. Adjustable rotating metal wall lamp giving direct and reflected light. Manufactured by oluce, italy. The coupé series, designed by joe colombo, was initially conceived as a variation of the spider family, created by the same designer, of which it has kept its base and stem. The simple, ingenious mechanism that connects the stem to the head makes it possible to direct the beam in several directions, by moving the dome up, down and sideways. In 1968, coupé won the ”international design award” of the american institute of interior designers in chicago. It is part of the permanent collection at both the moma in new york and the ”neue sammlung” museum in munich. Available in two versions, with either a semi-cylindrical or a semi-spherical dome, over the years, many models of coupé have been created (ranging between the historic table lamp to the floor and wall lamps), becoming one of the most renowned and appreciated oluce collections. Oluce’s expertise reveals its unparalleled manufacturing excellence which transforms into objects an untiring technological research into the potential of light. Each lamp is a milestone along this journey. Over time, from unusual materials, original designs and new lighting sources ensued revolutionary iconic designs by tito agnoli, joe colombo, marco zanuso, ostuni e forti, and vico magistretti, who since the 50s, have been rewriting the history of lighting. Recent collections reaffirm oluce design and decorative approach, expressed through the signs by italian and international designers such as angeletti & ruzza, francesco rota, nendo, victor vasilev, nicola gallizia, christophe pillet, mist-o and david lopez quincoces. - Upon inspection, If you decide not to move forward with the purchase, you or your agent must refuse the item at the time of pickup/delivery from the seller
