Here's a fabulous glass sculpture by Randy Strong, an artist and designer in hot glass for over 40 years. He is one of a handful of the early pioneering American Glass Artists to help define American Studio Art Glass. He started working in glass in 1969 at the California College of Arts and Crafts (now CCA) in Oakland, CA. His work is collected internationally and can be found from The Corning Museum in New York to the Louvre in Paris.
This particular piece signed and dated 1995, consists of free form glass with dichroic elements. The vibrant colors flow easily and are reminisent of butterfly wings. Truly a collector piece. less
