It was originally displayed in the bedroom of … more An enchanting antique French folding mirror dating from the late 19th century. It was originally displayed in the bedroom of a young lady and features a classic Victorian style design. The mirror has a wooden frame with brass hardware and decorative black lines. It has two panels which fold open and closed that have been decorated with charming illustrations of young ladies on fine panels of wood veneer. The front panel has the reverse side lined in soft velvet fabric which was used to pin cards, ribbons and small souvenirs. The second panel has a beveled mirror and there is a large square mirror on the back section. Originally, the piece would have had a small metal chain at the top and a small metal latch on the front but these have been lost over the years. less
