Brilliant 1950s drawing of a scene from an American Circus.

Original graphite on paper. Dimensions 6" x 7". The frame measures 14" x 15".

Signed, titled and dated by the artist.

Very good condition.

Glen Tracy was born in Hudson, Michigan, Jan 24 1883. He died in Sarasota, Florida April 1956. He studied with Frank Duveneck at the Art Academy of Cincinnati for most of 1899-1910. Tracy also taught at the Art Academy during the 1909-1910 school year and off and on for some years
following.

For several years Tracy centered his artwork on circus scenes and performers.
He moved to Florida in 1951 to be near the major tent shows, which spend winters there. Tracy and his wife Mimi traveled with the major circuses for almost a decade.
Glen Tracy's work appeared in almost 30 exhibitions at the Cincinnati Art Museum. His work was shown at the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington DC, the Scarab Club in Detroit, Closson Galleries in Cincinnati, in New York and his work is represented at the Detroit Art Institute.
