The tables are characterized by their clean lines and distinctive leather tops, which were specially crafted for Wormley's Precedent Line with Drexel. While they are in good original condition, the finish shows signs of age, including wear, fading, scuffs, and spots. Despite these imperfections, the tables remain sturdy and are a rare find, showcasing Wormley's pioneering efforts to bring modernism into everyday home furnishings. The tables includes two pieces of glass for the tops.

In 1947, Edward Wormley collaborated with Drexel Heritage to create the Precedent collection, a line that set new benchmarks in contemporary living. The collection incorporated materials like bleached mahogany, silver elm, beechwood, solid brass handles, and sliding panels. Wormley's designs expertly combined modern and traditional elements, capturing the essence of mid-century design. His work became iconic in the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s, and was featured in the Good Design exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in 1951 and 1952.
