- Description
- Original and rare, these large lanterns were used as lighting on poles with gas. The fittings are no longer there. … more Original and rare, these large lanterns were used as lighting on poles with gas. The fittings are no longer there. . They are unique and come from a barn in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. They were probably street lights from 100 years ago. The tops are solid copper and hand made. The round glass in each one is hand blown and is in perfect condition. Someone had painted the copper and put a hinge on the top of each. The paint has been removed to reveal the beautiful copper. The bases are wood, painted green to match the metal sides. They would be beautiful on posts outside the home. There are holes in the bottom of the wood and glass so fitting them with electricity would be easy. They are 15 inches wide and 28 inches tall. less
