A "Scenes from a Window" vase by the Danish artist and designer Bjørn Wiinblad (1918-2006) for Rosenthal. Buildings with windows and trees are depicted on the exterior of the vase with people engaged in various actions, including eating dinner, playing with a toy, and talking to neighbors. The vase is marked “Bjørn Wiinblad” to the front of the vase and “Rosenthal Germany” to the underside.
Bjørn Wiinblad was born in Denmark but has been praised worldwide for his designs. He attended the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Wiinblad was named Man of the Year in New York in 1985 and was awarded the American-Scandinavian Foundation's Cultural Prize of 1995. less
