Posing young revue dancer with pageboy hairstyle, taking a step forward, at the same time raising the bellflower-shaped hem of her short purple dress with fur collar with both hands sideways to the front and back. A large tuft of grass supports the figure at her left leg. On a beige, diamond-shaped plinth with gray shading on the sides, artist's signature 'dakon' on the top of the plinth, behind the figure. This figure also exists as a group of two, as the 'dolly sisters' were actually a pair of twins. There is also a group of four, an extremely rare and elaborate version by the goldscheider company as a special creation. The 'dolly sisters' rosie dolly (1892 - 1970) and jenny dolly (1892 - 1941), known professionally as dolly sisters, were hungarian-american identical twin dancers, singers and actresses, popular in vaudeville and theatre during the 1910s and 1920s. Both sisters also appeared in two silent films. Designed by stephan dakon (1904 - 1992), one of the most important designerswho worked for the goldscheider manufactory from 1924 until the mid-fifties. Model 5649 was designed and made circa 1926/1927.
