- The desk is in nice structural condition with no splits, cracks, odors, chips, or structural repairs. The finish is in … moreThe desk is in nice structural condition with no splits, cracks, odors, chips, or structural repairs. The finish is in good condition and the desk lid outside has been refinished. The inside desktop [both boards] have also been refinished. There is some finish pitting in the top of the outside flip board but does not distract and is sealed. The rest of the desk is its original finish. There has been some veneer repair on both ends of the pullouts that support the desk-opened top, and small piece of wood around one hinge, and 2 spots in the wood on the desktop that have had a finish repair [see pics]. The 2 dovetailed drawers glide smoothly and the 2 doors open, close, and latch very well. All of the hardware is solid brass as is the gallery and ormolu. It has beautiful sturdy cabriole legs. It is clean inside and out. less

Item offered is a vintage Baker Furniture Louis XV French style desk with flip open desk top with pullout supports. It is solid walnut wood with a brass gallery, brass pulls, and brass ormolu at the feet of the slender cabriole legs. It has one large dovetailed drawer and a small drawer. There are 2 small doors, cross-banding, and slots. All parts function nicely. It is a nice size for large and tight spaces.
