Hand-blown glass sphere with splendid reticello glass work, with brass stem and rosette. Designed by Carlo Scarpa for Venini, circa 1940. A fascinating light with a striking presence and warm light. “Reticello” is an Italian decorative glassblowing technique developed by Venini's Murano glassworks. It consists of the fusion of two reed bubbles (one inside the other) in which straight reeds have been twisted in opposite directions. Once joined, the oppositely twisted canes cross each other, creating a net-like pattern. By Carlo Scarpa, for Venini, c. 1940. Dimensions: 80 centimeters in height and 22 in diameter

Hand-blown glass sphere with splendid reticello glass work, with brass stem and rosette. Designed by Carlo Scarpa for Venini, circa 1940. A fascinating light with a striking presence and warm light.
