This contemporary 4x6 Dhurrie flat weave is an exciting new entry in Rug & Kilim’s esteemed custom-capable collection. Handwoven in cotton, it’s a modern take on antique and vintage Dhurrie flatweaves by one of the best partner looms in our craft, specifically led by a devoted collector and student of these Dhurries whose collaboration has allowed us to make the most meaningful contribution to the style.
On the Design:
Admirers of the craft will note this piece as one of our favorite new additions to this collection, made in the Dhurrie flatweave style with a most modern pattern. Hues of blue and white with accents in beige-brown and black underscore a cubist series of geometric patterns, where crisp color and sharp detail create a fabulous sense of dimensions and 3d effect.
It is both a work of art and a piece of classic beauty enjoying our contemporary approach to the tasteful abrash and striae the many antique and vintage pieces that inspired this collection might enjoy—which only lends the geometry and added depth and really complements the movement and repetition beautifully.
